This one.

I think I know a recipe for a great eternity.  Call me crazy or presumptuous.  It won’t be the first time.  I’ve been called worse.

Given, you, who are reading these words, in a hurry to see if this blog is captivating enough to stay with…”how many more sentences will I give it?”

you and I, we are believers and we will persevere and overcome, and stand in the presence of Him who rules and reigns over everything in complete awe.  And right now, we may feel like we will just crawl across the finish line, exhausted.

What else can top that?  Ah.  Here it is.  Everlasting fruit.  Yep.  Don’t freak out.   What kind of fruit?  The only kind that matters in eternity: people.  Specifically, sons and daughters of the Father who will lavish each one with an an incredible inheritance.  Who knows each one  by name.

So, this is how we do it (sing that line) this is how we do it, (come on, loosen up, you ain’t dead).

We pray.  We ask.  We look.  We focus.  For that one.  Even one.  Just one.  One hungry person who wants to know the truth.  One person who knows for certainty that he or she really really really does need a Savior.  One who is ready to hear, to believe, to repent, and to receive.

And this one is special.  This one catches the big vision right off.  This one really understands what it means to be saved.  What Christ really has done. Boomarama, get out of my way.  This one feels it.  Feels it deep down.  This one has to process it, talk about it.  This one is bubbling with life inside that keeps spilling out onto other people.  And, odd, other people are attracted to this one.

This one receives and gives.  Receives and gives.  Over and over again.  In Joy.  With willing sacrifice.  Because this one has the vision. Nailed it.  This one perceives the scales of eternity against 80 years. Laughs at the paltry comparison.  This one discovers believing is an activity that creates adventure, experience, and stories that have never been conceived.  This one can’t help but pass on his or her DNA for real life to each person that this one mentors.  High impact.

Guys, you just find one.  You find one “this one.”  And they draw it out of you.  Deep calls to deep and you give up something you never even knew or thought you had.  It comes right up from inside of you, surprising you, and it goes in to this one and he or she jumps with excitement. You didn’t expect that.  Guys, each of us has that in us.  Trust me on that.

And this one will be there guaranteed.  With many others.  And you had no idea.  No idea.

And in eternity the shouts and excitement and thunder of voices will be a part of your inheritance.  It just takes one “this one” to add to your excitement.

Find him or her. It’s a simple recipe.
